קצת על גל – אדריכל, מוזיקאי, מעצב, מרצה – מקים ובעלים של טבת אדריכלים
About Gal – Architect, Musician, Designer, Lecturer – Head of Tevet Architects & Associates [TaA]
Gal grew up in Israel and abroad (Africa, Mexico, Belgium, Italy, Portugal), being exposed to different cultures influenced and created the passion for Architecture. Gal studied Architecture in Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design in Jerusalem, and became a lecturer in the department. Following five years at Moshe Safdie Architects, Tevet Architects was founded in 1998, and gradually developed into an international studio with professional cooperations (in Europe and Asia). This structure of associates and partners became the concept of the studio. Tevet Architects & Associates [TaA] started activity in China eight years ago, realizing the potential of cooperation with local and international professionals and developers there.
Beyond being a musician. the need to combine different disciplines in his architectural work, drove Gal to study, after Architecture, towards a masters degree in Philosophy in Tel Aviv University. Concentrating on Theories of Language and Knowledge, led Tevet to the development of multi layered methodologies which were tested in reality in the studio. These methodologies together with the multi-disciplinary nature of Gal’s work along the years, joined into what the studio is offering now – Architecture enhanced by a wide peripheral knowledge base and unique processes.
Tevet has an active studio in Tel Aviv, and in Shanghai. In 2006 Gal exhibited his multi-disciplinary work in a solo exhibition in an important museum in Lisbon. His professional activity consistently incorporates in every project knowledge from peripheral fields to architecture – which leads to the variety of scales and programmes of the studios’ projects – from urban design, through residential building and private houses, to contemporary furniture design for international brands. The wide and indepth scope of work of Gal Tevet, is manifest in every project of the studio, and in a very consistent and coherent manner.
